Pastor Eve Williams

Pastor Eve Williams is a lifelong Methodist and was born in San Francisco and moved to Las Vegas at 3 months old, so she comes by both her love of the 49ers naturally and her claim as Vegas as her hometown honestly. She grew up at University UMC and eventually became a staff member there. It was at that time that she discerned a call to ministry that had been gnawing at her since adolescence.

She got her bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands in Redlands, California where she studied music. After a thirteen-year break from academia, which included the birth of her son, she went to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Candler School of Theology at Emory University where she earned her Master of Divinity degree.

MORE ABOUT PASTOR EVE

After graduation from seminary she returned to the Desert Southwest Conference where she was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church. She was appointed to churches in Gilbert and Paradise Valley, Arizona before returning to Las Vegas to serve Advent UMC.

Pastor Eve dearly loves the congregation at Advent and is very excited to see them grow and thrive both in size and spirituality. She is inspired by their devotion to each other, their commitment to the surrounding community, and the way they welcome and embrace new folks to the church. She considers it an honor to preach, teach, and lead at this courageous and passionate church.

In her personal life, Pastor Eve continues to learn how to be both an empty nester and a military mom to her son who is now in the Army National Guard. She is grateful for the love and support of dear friends and the family puppy as she adjusts to her new normal. She loves a good book, a good hike, and a good cup of coffee and her favorite things in the whole world are having new experiences, seeing new places, and learning new things.

Pastor Eve’s greatest passion in ministry is helping people articulate their own faith and understand where they are in their own faith journey.
